TT general assembly with new elections

At the regular new elections, the general assembly of the table tennis section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen e.V. confirmed section head Wilhelm Kolb in office for a further two years – Beate Brandl is the new deputy section head, the other board posts were also newly filled; all board members were elected unanimously. Further agenda items concerned, among other things, the next TT events and the 50th anniversary of the TT section in the coming year.

Within the TT assembly, section head Wilhelm Kolb warmly welcomed the chairman of the TuS, Horst Lackner, and Norbert Reinelt in his role as honorary managing director of the Tischtennis Förderkreis e.V. In his report, the section head not only looked back on activities such as the TT youth’s help in carrying out the TuS Weko half marathon and club events, but also addressed sporting aspects such as the reduction of teams to three men’s and three boys’ teams each, which took place for various understandable reasons for the 2014/15 season.

With this team registration, the TT section also went into the 2015/16 season. By the end of the first round, the 1st team (team captain Reinhard Kroll), often handicapped by absences, had stabilised in 5th place in the 1st Kreisliga. The 2nd team (team captain Simon Wasmeier), which had withdrawn into the 3rd Kreisliga South, should start the second round in the new year undefeated in 1st place. The 3rd team (team captain Walter Fischer) can finish the first round in 3rd place in the 4th Kreisliga North. The 1st boys’ team (team captain Walter Fischer), promoted to the 1st Bezirksliga, had to pay tuition against the established competition, but does not want to be content with 4th place in the second round. In the 1st Kreisliga, the 2nd boys’ team (team captain Peter Niederhammer) finishes the first round in a good 2nd place – the 3rd boys’ team (team captain Felix Moschenski) has achieved staying up in 4th place.

The section head’s conclusion: it will continue to require great effort to move further or all the way to the top in the leagues, or to hold good leading positions. The youngsters playing among the men are doing pleasingly well, Wilhelm Kolb specially highlighted with appreciation. In the youth area, the TT section can therefore look forward quite confidently, but despite talented players it must make more intensive efforts to attract new talent. The section head remains concerned about the situation, not yet satisfactorily resolved, regarding an improvement and differentiation of the training offer.

Wilhelm Kolb warmly thanked all board members, other office holders and the team captains for their cooperation, the players for their commitment – and especially the youth leadership, the coaches, supervisors and helping parents. He also expressed thanks to the town in view of the sporting home “Alexi-Halle”, as well as to the primary school and the caretaker. After the section head had presented the financial report and the audit report on account of the upcoming new appointment to the treasurer post, the assembly unanimously discharged the board.

TuS chairman Horst Lackner thanked the board members for their voluntary commitment and the players for their sporting effort – his special recognition went to the youth area. Lackner further made clear that match operations, youth development and grassroots sport in the club would not be possible at all without ever-new voluntary helpers, that is, without this fundamental club work – which is why he motivated the members to get involved and to win over fellow campaigners. Beyond the sporting side, the TuS chairman highlighted the importance of a good community in the club, especially for the youth.

As election supervisor, Horst Lackner, assisted by the assessors Wigbert Bichlmeier and Helmut Köstler, swiftly conducted the new elections: the 24 members present filled all posts unanimously. Section head Wilhelm Kolb was confirmed in office for a further two years. Beate Brandl, previously youth leader, is now deputy section head; the other new board members are Mathias Jagdhuber as secretary, Marion Fuchs as treasurer and Hannah Mayerhofer as youth leader – their predecessors, apart from the change of office of the previous youth leader, did not stand again. The extended board still includes sports officer Erwin Wimmer, deputy youth leader Simon Wasmeier and equipment officer Christian Hölzlwimmer. The TuS chairman thanked all board members for their willingness to cooperate and wished the board and the teams the best of luck and success.

Section head Wilhelm Kolb also pointed out the next TT events: the TT club championship 2015 takes place on Sunday, 13 December in the Alexi-Halle – registration from 8:30, tournament start 9:30. The Christmas party of the TT section is on Friday, 18 December 2015, at the Landgasthof “Zur Hecke” – start 19:00. Finally, the 50th anniversary of the TuS table tennis section, coming up in 2016, was discussed – the board will work out proposals for this. – lb

In addition, the assembly unanimously decided to raise the section fees, which had remained stable for a good decade, from 2014 – to 30 euros per year for active members aged 18 and over, or 15 euros for youths (and trainees/students over 18) as well as passive members. Finally, the staging of the final round of the Grenzland Cup was discussed, which the TT section hosts on Saturday, 29 June (start 10:00), in the triple sports hall (at the school centre) – all table tennis fans and sports enthusiasts are warmly invited to this final round, which promises exciting matches. – lb
