The Chronicle from 2001-2011

2000/2001 The 1st team plays among the top of the Bayernliga but loses to the “world club” Bayern München, packed with numerous top players, and misses out on promotion to the Oberliga.

2001/2002 Major changes stand at the start of the season.
Many rules of the sport of table tennis changed by the ITTF, such as the new scoring system and above all the new, larger balls, are initially received with scepticism, but most people get used to them relatively quickly.
The 1st team stands at the top of the Bayernliga for nearly the entire season but has to admit defeat in the decisive second-to-last match against Fortuna Passau.
For the coming season, Andi Weikert from Waldkraiburg, who previously played in Passau’s 2nd Bundesliga team, can be signed as a new top player.

2002/2003 Five championship titles for the TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen. A season with a record, ripe for the “Guinness Book of Records”. No fewer than five of seven men’s teams adorned themselves with the championship title:

1st men’s team (= MT) champion of the Oberliga Süd (Andi Weikert, Ludek Jenista, Holger Riedl, Ali Schwentner, Roland Schilcher, Thomas Jakob, Robert Doppermann).

2nd MT champion of the 1st district league Lower Bavaria - Daniel Miffek, Markus Gründmayer, Franz Kirschner, Gerhard Günther, Hans and Michael Straßer.

3rd MT champion 3rd district league Süd - Manfred Schille, Rudi Sussmann, Peter Wolfrum, Helmut Schmidinger, Dr. Uwe Neubauer, Reinhard Kroll

4th MT champion 2nd Kreisliga - Marius Jarzombski, Georg Romeis, Helmut Köstler, Albert Gschwandtner

7th MT champion 4th Kreisliga Süd - Mehrdad Amini, Martin Schneider, Andi Hochecker, Thomas Maurer, Roland Klugseder.

In the youth area, promotion of the boys’ “First” to the Bayernliga - Simon Bründl, Andi Wimmer, Markus Hauzenberger, Sebastian Deutsch

District champions 2002: Kristina Kurz (singles, doubles), Sebastian Deutsch (doubles)

Kreis champions 2002: (five of eight possible titles) Kristina Kurz (singles, doubles schoolgirls A), Sebastian Deutsch (singles, doubles schoolboys A), A. Wimmer/M. Hauzenberger (doubles youth), Simon Bründl (singles youth)

Rudi Sussmann remains at the head of the section (term of office shortened to two years).
