The end-of-year celebration of the TuS table tennis department was well attended, at which department head Wilhelm Kolb was able to welcome Pfarrkirchen’s third mayor Kurt Vallée and TuS “vice-chairman” Andreas Wiertz as guests of honour.

Pfarrkirchen. The table tennis department of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen has no problems with young talent, as was impressively demonstrated by the number of participants in this year’s youth club championship: 32 girls and boys battled with great dedication in the Alexihalle for victory in the doubles and singles.
Straight into the competitive action, split into team players and non-active players. Things got underway with the doubles – this competition was played in a simple knockout system. Among the team players, each player from the first half of the club ranking was drawn a partner from the second half. In the end, Johannes Apfel and Max Grabow prevailed in the final against Patrick Buchinger and Matthias Kolb. Joint third place went to the pairings Alexander Deuerling / Jonas Lindinger and Albin Abdulahu / Alexander Rueß.
The doubles competition of the non-active players was held in the same format, with all doubles here drawn freely. The championship title was secured by Stephan Ederer and Markus Gyetko. Second place went to Claudia Farek and Elias Schraml. Third place went to Wladislaw Gerlitz / Fritz Greineder and Martin Huber / Tobias Pfaffinger.
To determine the singles club champions, four preliminary-round groups were first formed from both the team players (15 participants) and the non-active players (17 participants). The top two in each group reached the intermediate round, from which in turn the top two qualified for the semi-final and then determined the club champion. All the other players battled in the consolation round for the lower places. After four hours, the winners and placings were decided:

The awards ceremony took place following the club championship as part of the end-of-year celebration at Gasthof Schachtl. Patron Herbert Horak and youth coordinator Karin Stemplinger presented all participants with certificates – the top finishers with trophies and medals. Department head Wilhelm Kolb expressed his appreciation to all participants for their sporting commitment – especially, of course, to the winners, whom he too congratulated on their successes.
As part of this celebration, a brief review of the completed first half of the season was also not to be missed. Youth coordinator Karin Stemplinger reported with great pride on the successes: The 1st boys’ team occupies an excellent 6th place in the 2nd District League Lower Bavaria. Both the 2nd and 4th teams are autumn champions in the 1st and 3rd District Class respectively, and the 3rd team became autumn runner-up in the 2nd District Class.
