Pfarrkirchen. At their traditional Christmas and end-of-year party at the “Rottaler Augustiner”, the table tennis section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen held a brief review – combined with the board’s heartfelt thanks to all players, officials and helpers – and carried out the award ceremony of the 2025 club championship, looked ahead to the 60th table tennis anniversary in 2026 and enjoyed good fellowship in fine company.
The atmospheric opening was the standing reception with fruit punch and mulled wine in the beer garden around the blazing fire bowl provided and stocked by landlord Andi Hoffmann (many thanks!). Inside, section head Wilhelm Kolb welcomed the “table tennis family” to the Christmas and end-of-year party, greeting TuS chairman Horst Lackner among the circle of active members, partners, youngsters and fellow trainees.
Kolb thanked everyone involved in the sport, on the board, at events and in socializing for their support and commitment: including deputy chair Beate Brandl, secretary Peter Wolfrum (men’s team captain until the 2025/26 season), treasurer Marion Fuchs (membership administration), youth leader Felix Moschenski (youth team captain, youth coach), the new men’s team captain, Jonas Lindinger – and the patron of the club championship, Kurt Vallée, for his donation.
After the meal, the section head kept the “review” short with a view to the rest of the sociable evening: in the 2025/26 season the table tennis section has two teams in competitive play. The men’s team, which is in transition (team captain Jonas Lindinger) and going into the new year with reinforcement, stands in a relegation spot after the first half of the season in the district class B group 8 Rottal and wants “at all costs to reach a safe position” in the second half of the season. The Youth 19 team stands in 5th place at the end of the first half of the season in the district class A group 3 South and is aiming “for a better placing” in the second half of the season.
Also important was, as for many years now, the table tennis section’s involvement in the catering at the Sparkasse TuS half marathon, as well as the taster day with the German Table Tennis Association’s “table tennis mobile” for the fourth-grade classes of the Pfarrkirchen primary school.
“In the fine fellowship of this traditional party”, TuS chairman Horst Lackner thanked the players and volunteers of the table tennis section for their commitment. He highlighted the half marathon as a major event of importance for the club and expressed heartfelt thanks to the table tennis catering team – Beate Brandl, Hans and Marion Fuchs, Gerhard Erl, Felix Moschenski.
Under the motto “Mark it in your diary now!”, section head Wilhelm Kolb, beyond the section dates and the Sparkasse half marathon (Sun., 19 April 2026) in the coming year, announced the key table tennis event: on Saturday, 18 July 2026, the table tennis section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen will celebrate its 60th anniversary from 3 p.m. with a table tennis show event and a subsequent party!
The award ceremony of the excitingly fought club championship was conducted by TuS chairman Horst Lackner and deputy section head Beate Brandl, who congratulated the winners on their success as they presented the trophies, medals and certificates: the new club champion Matthias Kolb, Jonas Lindinger (2nd place) and Paul Zylka (3rd place), who was warmly welcomed as a new member of the men’s team – as well as the doubles winners Samuel Porschen/Erwin Wimmer and the runners-up Matthias Kolb/Felix Moschenski.
Section head Wilhelm Kolb also congratulated everyone and expressed his appreciation for their commitment and achievements. Christmas carols sung together framed the program items. Marion Fuchs enriched the party with the amusing story “The Christmas Mouse”.
Section head Wilhelm Kolb and TuS chairman Horst Lackner wished all members and friends of the table tennis section and their families a merry and contemplative Christmas as well as much luck, success and health in the new year – and sporting success to the teams! – lb
