Pfarrkirchen. At the regular elections, the general assembly of the table tennis section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen e.V., held at the “Bahnhofsstüberl”, unanimously confirmed the board members, headed by section head Wilhelm Kolb, in their offices – sporting matters and events were also a focus.
After section head Kolb had warmly welcomed the members present and TuS chairman Horst Lackner, he briefly reviewed the main table tennis events, participations and the sporting development over the past two years: the men’s team (team captain: Peter Wolfrum) has held its own well in the district class B group 8 Rottal; the youth team (team captain Felix Moschenski) was able to maintain its good position in the district class A group 3 South. Participation numbers have risen pleasingly in both the adult and the youth training sessions.
The new team captain and dedicated organizer of the men’s team is now Jonas Lindinger. Long-serving team captain Peter Wolfrum, who always set an exemplary example with his joy of play, finesse and skill, unfortunately had to withdraw from competitive sport due to serious knee problems.
The section head’s conclusion in sporting terms, looking ahead: great efforts are still needed to reach good positions in the leagues. In the youth area, more young talent needs to be recruited again and again to add to the gifted players – and the men’s team, in which women may also compete, can always use reinforcement too.
The highlights of the year were the club championships with catering in the Alexi gym and the Christmas party at the “Steakhouse” restaurant, the table tennis section’s involvement – with support from women of the handball section – in the catering at the Sparkasse TuS half marathon, as well as the big table tennis taster day with the German Table Tennis Association’s table tennis mobile and coach Ulrich Eckert at the primary school for around 130 pupils from the six fourth-grade classes in the Alexi gym.
Wilhelm Kolb warmly thanked the board members, team captains, training supervisors and all the helpers for their cooperation, and all the active players for their commitment. Given the section’s sporting home in the Alexi hall, the table tennis section’s thanks go to the town as well as to the primary school, namely headmaster Matthias Altmannsberger and caretaker Klaus Maruschke.
TuS chairman Horst Lackner thanked all the contributors and active members of the table tennis section for their commitment. He particularly highlighted the voluntary work overall as well as the help at the half marathon and at the table tennis taster day. Especially in the youth area, it is about the future, because without the commitment of volunteers in the club, competitive play, youth development and grassroots sport would not be possible, he emphasized.
According to TuS auditor Andreas Mittermeier, Marion Fuchs’s management of the finances proved to be “completely in order”. After the financial report by Marion Fuchs, the assembly unanimously discharged the board.
Returning officer Horst Lackner moved the elections along briskly: the assembly filled all positions unanimously. Section head Wilhelm Kolb and his deputy Beate Brandl, “treasurer” Marion Fuchs (membership administration), secretary Peter Wolfrum and youth leader Felix Moschenski were confirmed in their offices for a further two years. TuS chairman Lackner thanked the board members for their willingness to continue their work; he wished the board and the teams much luck and success.
Section head Wilhelm Kolb pointed out the next table tennis events:
- Sun., 7 December, 11:00 a.m. – club championship with catering (Alexi hall)
- Sat., 13 December, 7:00 p.m. – Christmas party (“Rottaler Augustiner”)
Finally, the assembly also dealt with the anniversary coming up in 2026: “60 years of the table tennis section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen”. – lb
