Pfarrkirchen. At the local “table tennis mini-championships,” organised by the TT section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen in the Alexi sports hall, the children really enjoyed being able to show their talent and their sporting spirit. Deputy section head Beate Brandl welcomed nine boys and one girl to this local qualifier, wishing them much enjoyment and exciting matches. Youth leader Simon Wasmeier, who ran the tournament together with Daniel Moschenski, explained the format after the free warm-up, and then it could begin – it was nice that parents and grandparents also stayed, because then it is even more fun for the children when there is applause for their sporting efforts too. Here and there a talent flashed out, shining with a fine performance, until the winners were decided. In the end all the children received a certificate and a gift, and for the top places there was also a trophy or a medal – all donated by the local VR-Bank, represented by authorised officer and market area manager Franz Zehentreiter, who had seen “a lot of enjoyment of table tennis among the children.” Deputy section head Beate Brandl was delighted about “so much motivation and competitive spirit.” She expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the successful running of the “mini-championships”: the VR-Bank for trophies and prizes, youth leader Simon Wasmeier and Daniel Moschenski for the tournament management, and coach Andrea Secerov and committee member Marion Fuchs (treasury and membership administration) for supporting the running of the event. Together with authorised officer Franz Zehentreiter, youth leader Simon Wasmeier conducted the award ceremony to great applause: 8 years and younger: Emma Dietz ahead of Michael Seisenberger and Jonas Kramlinger; 9/10 years: Jonathan Matejka ahead of Moritz Dietz, Paul Schmidbauer and Christian Schwarz; 11/12 years: David Moschenski (the only one of his age class, he played in another group) – they are all qualified for the district qualifier in March 2020. The thanks of TT section head Wilhelm Kolb go here to everyone involved, “because every child who takes an interest in our table tennis sport is important to us.” Coach Andrea Secerov gave the boys and girls a motivating invitation to the children’s and youth training, which she holds every Wednesday, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., in the Alexi sports hall by the primary school: “Table tennis is fun, it demands and develops both skill and concentration – it would be lovely if the participants keep coming to us and, if possible, bring along a friend – everyone is warmly welcome!”
