Pfarrkirchen. At its traditional and very well attended Christmas and year-end party at the Gasthof Schachtl, the table tennis section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen looked back on the season so far and held the award ceremony for the 2018 club championship – the thanks of the committee went to all players, officials and friends of the TT section. After a lovely musical introduction by the “Stubnmusi Familie Gruber” (Wurmannsquick), section head Wilhelm Kolb welcomed the “table tennis family” – among the large gathering of 42 active members, partners, youngsters and children he welcomed as guests of honour the deputy chairman of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen, Andreas Wiertz, and the patron of the club championship, town councillor Kurt Vallée. The section head warmly thanked everyone committed to the sport, to the committee and to the social life of the section for their support and dedication. Deputy TuS chairman Andreas Wiertz emphasised, among other things, the range within TuS and its sections – from leisure activities all the way to successful competitive sport – that distinguishes this club. Overall, TuS as such should be put in the spotlight more, “because we are one club.” It is also very important to Wiertz “to steer against polemics and exclusion as a club.” The club as a whole could act better and use its events to enjoy the club and the sport together. “Let us put what we have in common in the foreground,” the deputy chairman urged. In the spirit of this goal, Wiertz “drummed up” support for the TuS project “Stickerstars collectors’ album,” which, under the motto “Living Club campaign,” will bring all players, coaches, committee members and helpers, in pictures, into a collectors’ album of the whole club. “And TuS – that is all of us together,” Wiertz stressed. Town councillor Kurt Vallée, patron of the club championship, was delighted with the large festive gathering, in which above all every age group, from “small” to “big,” was united in anticipation of Christmas. On the sporting side, Vallée still had ready how it was seen in his youth: “The best thing is camaraderie – rejoicing over victories and learning from defeats, as well as celebrating together.” And given the many happy faces in the hall, this was a good table tennis community within TuS. Vallée expressed his heartfelt thanks to those responsible and the helpers of the TT section who contribute and achieve so much for it – “it’s wonderful to have such reliable people in voluntary roles,” he said appreciatively. Section head Wilhelm Kolb summarised the 2017/18 first half of the season for the men’s teams on the basis of the report prepared by Reinhard Kroll: The “First” holds a respectable 5th place in the BTTV district class A Lower Bavaria-East Gr. 4 Rottal; the best record was held by Marvin Fischer with 9:2 wins, ahead of team captain Peter Wolfrum (11:8), Elias Hölzl (9:7) and Marius Jarzombski (5:8); Uwe Neubauer and Heinrich Sparwasser also collected points; in doubles, Wolfrum and Jarzombski in particular were convincing (4:1). The 2nd team sits, quite surprisingly, in 3rd place in the BTTV district class B Lower Bavaria-East Gr. 7 Rottal – and was the only team to inflict a dropped point on the commanding league leaders Ruhstorf II with a 7:7 draw; in the top pairing Simon Hölzl played remarkably well with 14:12 wins, Armin Siebengartner is very strong (16:7), and team captain Walter Fischer also has a positive record (9:8); it is pleasing that young players Jonas Lindinger and Heinrich Sparwasser have again moved up and were also convincing. The “Third” holds 8th place in the BTTV district class C Lower Bavaria-East Gr. 7 Rottal, roughly as expected; very good records were achieved by Jonas Lindinger (12:10) and Heinrich Sparwasser (15:2, 3rd in the overall ranking!); besides team captain Felix Moschenski, also in action were: Martin Schneider, Erwin Wimmer, Hannah Mayerhofer and youth player Daniel Moschenski, who collected points. Conclusion: A good season so far for the 1st and 2nd teams; in the second half of the season it will take full commitment and also the necessary bit of luck for things to keep going well. For the youth, Walter Fischer (coach and captain of Boys I) and youth leader Hannah Mayerhofer drew up a review: “Top” and unbeaten in 1st place in the Boys’ district league Gr. 1 South (BTTV Lower Bavaria-East) is the Boys I team with 14:0 points; Lenny Fischer (16:0) and Daniel Moschenski (13:0) played outstandingly; Elias Hölzl, Markus Maier, Noel Alberti and Leon Hausruckinger also contributed to the team’s success. The newly formed 2nd team (captain Felix Moschenski) managed to hold 5th place in the Boys’ district class A Gr. 4 South (BTTV Lower Bavaria-East); the best is Moreno Kühn (10:2) ahead of Josef Klemmeier; David Secerov and Leon Hausruckinger also collected points. Deputy TuS chairman Andreas Wiertz and patron Kurt Vallée, together with deputy section head Beate Brandl, conducted the award ceremony for the very exciting and sportingly outstanding club championship (adults), congratulating on the achievements as they presented the trophies and certificates: in singles Andrea Secerov (youth coach) on her win as well as Marvin Fischer and Marius Jarzombski on 2nd and 3rd place – in doubles the winning duo Simon Wasmeier–Marvin Fischer and the runners-up, Daniel Moschenski–Walter Fischer. The award ceremony for the youth club championship was conducted by the guests of honour together with Walter Fischer (youth coach): trophies went to winner Lenny Fischer, to runner-up Josef Klemmeier (2nd place) and to third-placed Moreno Kühn – every participant received a certificate and could choose a small gift. Section head Wilhelm Kolb also congratulated everyone; he expressed his appreciation for their dedication and achievements. Deputy section head Beate Brandl and Marion Fuchs (treasurer/membership administration) presented a gift as a token of thanks to everyone who had helped with the match programme and the successful club events – from “Bowling for the whole family” through the catering stand at the TuS/WEKO half marathon and the TT summer party (TuS clubhouse) to the mini-championship, club championships and Christmas party. With lovely, atmospheric tunes, the “Stubnmusi Familie Gruber” (Werner Gruber/guitar, Magdalena/harp and Franziska/hammered dulcimer) framed the items on the programme, provided a backdrop for the meal (delicious buffet) and accompanied the Christmas carols sung together. Beate Brandl enriched the celebration with two stories well suited to the run-up to Christmas. Section head Wilhelm Kolb and the guests of honour wished the members a Merry Christmas, much luck and good health, and the teams every success.
