at the TT section of TuS
Pfarrkirchen. Playing table tennis and a competition like this is fun for children, as was shown once again at the local round of the “mini championship”, which the TT section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen hosted in the Alexi hall. Eligible to enter were girls and boys who had not yet taken part in official competition. Youth leader Hannah Mayerhofer welcomed the eleven participants, wished them lots of fun and exciting matches – nice that parents were also there, who were not sparing with applause for effort and performance.
Here and there one talent or another already flashed up. In the end every participant received a certificate, for the first places also a trophy, and in addition a gift – sponsored by the local VR-Bank, represented by authorised officer Markus Wörn (head of the private customer department). Together with him youth leader Hannah Mayerhofer conducted the awards ceremony – the best four of the age groups qualify for the district round on 4 March 2018 in Arnstorf: AG 8 years/younger 1.) Arthur Sparwasser, 2.) Erika Secerov, AG 9/10 years 1.) Marie Usinger, 2.) David Severov – each fewer than four participants; AG 11/12 years 1.) Tim Henghuber (without loss of set or match), 2.) Christian Usinger, 3.) Manuel Enggruber, 4.) Kyle Buhagiar. “Table tennis really is a great sport; everyone clearly had a lot of fun,” Markus Wörn was delighted; he combined his congratulations with a motivating “but now keep at it, table tennis is movement and action, and good for fitness and health” – so Wörn wished the children “continued great enjoyment of it”.
Youth leader Hannah Mayerhofer expressed her heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the successful running of the “mini championship”: the VR-Bank for trophies and prizes, Reinhard Kroll for the tournament management, and the youth players Marvin Fischer, Heinrich Sparwasser and Daniel Moschenski, who acted as scorers. The thanks of section head Wilhelm Kolb go to all those involved. “Every child who is interested in our table tennis sport is important to us,” he stresses.
