Double jubilation at the table tennis section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen: the newly formed 2nd men’s team played a very strong season in the 3rd district league South and took the title undefeated, while the 3rd men’s team finished a thrillingly concluded season in the 4th district league North in second place, level on points with the leaders, which here is likewise a promotion place.
With 39:1 points, i.e. 19 wins and only one draw, the 2nd team won the championship of the 3rd district league South convincingly and is promoted to the 2nd district league. The key factors in this success were both the successful new composition of the team and the consistently strong level of performance. Everyone played their part: the new team captain Simon Wasmeier (19 appearances, record 25:8 wins) as well as Armin Siebengartner (17 appearances, record 30:9 wins) – and especially the two youth players Elias Hölzl (18 appearances, record 35:3 wins) and Marvin Fischer (12 appearances, record 20:2 wins) – also playing and scoring points in the “second team” were Walter Fischer, Reinhard Kroll, Matthias Kolb, Martin Schneider and youth player Simon Hölzl.
The 3rd team narrowly missed the title in the 4th district league North: with 15 wins, one draw and two defeats, 31:5 points, level with the champions, but a poorer game difference and therefore second place – after an exciting final phase of the season, just one point ahead of third. They mostly looked good against their direct rivals but dropped points elsewhere, which probably prevented the jump to top spot. There is still reason to celebrate, however, since the runner-up is also promoted here to the 3rd district league. Those who achieved promotion: team captain Walter Fischer (17 appearances, record 29:8 wins), Martin Schneider (17 appearances, record 25:11 wins), Christian Jagdhuber (8 appearances, record 10:8 wins), Mathias Jagdhuber (8 appearances, record 9:2 wins) – along with the other point-scorers Simon Hölzl from the youth, Markus Jagdhuber, Rainer Appelt, Georg Romeis, Christian Hölzlwimmer and Albert Gschwandtner.

In the 1st district league, the 1st youth team – in the line-up Elias Hölzl, Marvin Fischer (best record with 10:4 wins), Simon Hölzl, Jonas Lindinger – had to settle for 4th place; Markus Gyetko and Heinrich Sparwasser from the “second team” helped out. Now the aim next season is to attack again to reach the top three. The 2nd youth team reached 2nd place in the 1st district league and were only unable to beat the leaders; Jonas Lindinger, Heinrich Sparwasser (best records with 7:1 and 6:0 wins respectively), Adrian Niederhammer and Tobias Pfaffinger contested the most matches, while Florian Fürstberger and Sandra Pfaffinger also collected points. The 3rd youth team, likewise in the 1st district league, in the line-up Daniel Moschenski, Lenny Fischer, Sandra Pfaffiner and Markus Maier, lined up in 23rd place just behind the “second team”.
Alongside the pleasingly committed and successful showing of the youth players among the men, the performance of the youth teams certainly gives cause for optimism looking ahead, since the TT section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen places great value on developing its young players. – lb
