Pfarrkirchen. Two winter champion teams, another promoted side and a third place after the first half of the season – plus an exciting club championship at which Maximilian Espertshuber, as the most successful participant, took the winner’s trophy in the singles and, with Florian Fürstberger, in the doubles: rightly, the youth of the table tennis section of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen, along with their managers and coaches, could celebrate the end of the year in good spirits.
27 children and young people took part in the club championship of the TT youth in the Alexi gymnasium. Youth manager Beate Brandl wished the young table tennis players much success – after thanking Gerhard Erl and Hannah Mayerhofer for running the tournament, she opened the event. During the exciting matches, some parents were also caught up in the tension. It began with the doubles: in the group of non-active players, Wladislaw Gerlitz / Daniel Moschenski won the final against Daniel Harder / Max Krause. In the doubles competition for the team players, Maximilian Espertshuber / Florian Fürstberger ultimately came out on top in the final against Stephan Ederer / Markus Gyetko.

The awards ceremony took place at the end-of-year celebration at the country inn “Zur Hecke”. As patron of the club championship, Herbert Horak expressed great appreciation to all participants for their fighting spirit and sporting commitment. “This shows that the youth management’s concept is really thriving and that the voluntary commitment of coaches and managers pays off”, said Horak. He thanked all those responsible for the TT youth and the section, as well as the training leaders and team managers, for this commitment – his thanks went to the parents for enabling their children to play the sport of table tennis.
Patron Herbert Horak and youth manager Beate Brandl presented trophies to the singles winners and runners-up (doubles: medals), a certificate and a small gift to each participant. Section head Wilhelm Kolb’s appreciation went to all the children and young people for their sporting commitment – he congratulated the winners on their successes. The section head encouraged all the young TT players to keep training keenly and to gather plenty of competitive experience. With regard to the report by the deputy youth manager, he congratulated the teams on their great results.
Hannah Mayerhofer highlighted these strong performances in the first half of the season: boys I “winter champions” – Max Grabow, Maximilian Espertshuber, Tobias and Alexander Rueß with manager Markus Rueß, in first place in district league 1 without dropping a point! Boys II – Marvin Fischer, Jonas Lindinger, Stephan Ederer, Richard Götz (Matthias Jagdhuber and other “stand-ins”), manager Walter Fischer, district league 1, place 3. Boys III – Matthias Jagdhuber, Sebastian Flat, Armin Barthelme, Christian Farek (Adrian Niederhammer, Tobias Pfaffinger), manager Eugen Flat, district league 2, place 2 (promotion). Boys IV “winter champions” – Markus Gyetko, Florian Fürstberger, Simon Niedermeier, Tobias Pfaffinger, Luca Staller (Elias Hölzl and others “brought in”), manager Christian Hölzlwimmer, district league 3, place 1 (promotion)!
A look at the pleasing and very good TuS placings at the district singles championship: boys – Johannes Apfel 2nd, Simon Wasmeier 3rd, Jonas Lindinger 5th; students A – Marvin Fischer 1st and, among others, Simon Hölzl 5th; students B – Elias Hölzl 3rd, Luca Staller 5th. At the district team championship (students A), the young TT squad of the TuS (Grabow, Espertshuber, A. Rueß, M. Fischer) smoothly bagged their opponent TSV Tann 8:0 on St Nicholas’ Day and qualified for the district tournament.
Youth manager Beate Brandl warmly thanked all those who ensured the league and training operations – Hannah Mayerhofer, Gerhard Erl, Marion Fuchs, Markus Rueß, Walter Fischer, Eugen Flat and Christian Hölzlwimmer – as well as the helpers from the ranks of the players at the Weko half-marathon (Max Grabow, Tobias Rueß, Stephan Ederer, Matthias Kolb, Simon Wasmeier) and the Mini Championships (Marvin Fischer, Simon Niedermeier, Alexander and Tobias Rueß). High recognition also goes to them from the board. Section head Wilhelm Kolb wishes the children, young people and their parents, as well as the team managers, coaches and helpers, a merry Christmas – and in the new year much luck and good health, and the TT players also much success! – lb
