Pfarrkirchen. The boys’ team IV of the table tennis department of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen has put in an absolutely perfect season – the team, newly founded only before this campaign, marched without any dropped points through both the 3rd and the 2nd boys’ District League and now moves up as champions to the 1st boys’ District League.
The team finished the first half of the 2013/14 season free of dropped points (12:0 points, 48:7 matches) as “winter champions” of the 3rd District League. Due to the half-yearly promotion (and relegation) regulation at district level, promotion to the 2nd District League followed for the second half of the season – and in part two of the 2013/14 campaign too, Simon Hölzl, Simon Niedermeier, Lucca Staller, Heinrich Sparwasser, Tobias Pfaffinger and Florian Fürstberger really stepped on the gas.
The team, excelling through its cohesion, also gave nothing away in the 2nd District League, again won all its encounters and once more claimed the championship without a dropped point (14:0 points, 56:22 matches). With this, the boys’ team IV of TuS Pfarrkirchen crowned its clean sweep with promotion to the 1st District League. On this “great performance”, department head Wilhelm Kolb as well as youth coordinator Beate Brandl and her deputy, youth coach Hannah Mayerhofer, congratulate the young table tennis athletes most warmly, also on behalf of the entire board.
The newcomers prevailed against established and ambitious teams such as fellow promoted side TSV Triftern 1895 (12:2 P., 54:28 matches), which particularly pleases the TuS officials. “Having fun with the sport, being able to get excited and improving in competition” – our table tennis needs such young talent, emphasises table tennis department head Wilhelm Kolb. He and the youth coordinators wish the championship-winning Boys IV team much success in the 1st boys’ District League – “the boys will also be able to hold their own there”.
With this title win, TuS Pfarrkirchen has dominated both boys’ District Leagues, because the Boys I team became champions of the 1st District League and moves up to the 2nd District League. The 2nd and 3rd boys’ teams took the respectable places 3 and 4 in the 1st District League. “Altogether a really great season result”, the department head stresses. The board’s thanks at this point go to all coaches and team supervisors. – lb
