Roßbach. At the 2nd district ranking tournament (KRLT) of the table tennis youth, hosted by the table tennis department of FC Roßbach in the primary school gymnasium, in addition to four players of TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen, sports colleagues from the clubs SV Geratskirchen, SVG Ruhstorf, FC Roßbach and TTC Eggenfelden qualified for the regional area tournaments.
With a total of 33 participants (31 boys / two girls), this tournament found a good response, although the girls’ and schoolgirls’ A competitions remained unfilled. In any case, district youth officer Gerhard Erl, as tournament director, together with his helpers had a full day’s programme of matches to carry out until the winners and placings were decided. At the tables, every ball and every point was fought for, because everyone wanted to achieve qualification for the 2nd Regional Area Ranking Tournament East for youth and schoolboys/girls B (22 April 2012 at TSV Simbach) or for the 2nd BBRLT East for schoolboys/girls A (20 May 2012 at DJK Haslbach).
The winners of the individual competitions confidently conquered the top: Among the boys (ten participants), Simon Wasmeier (TuS 1860 Pfarrkirchen), who won all seven of his matches, took the title. In the schoolboys A age group (16 participants), Nick Unterberg (SVG Ruhstorf) came out on top after eight wins in nine matches. In the schoolboys B age group (five participants), Stefan Haufellner (FC Roßbach) kept a clean sheet with four wins. In the “club-internal” schoolgirls B duel between the two young players of FC Roßbach, Amelie Knab got the better of it. The top four in each age group qualified for the district tournament.
