The TT taster mobile, which the table tennis youth department offered in the Alexi hall as part of the 150th anniversary of the TuS Pfarrkirchen club, met with great interest. From 10:00 to 16:00, table tennis enthusiasts of all age groups were able to engage with the fast-paced sport around the little round celluloid ball in all its variations, in Germany’s only mobile TT equipment room.
DTTB employee Alexander Murek (holder of the German Table Tennis Association’s B-coach licence) introduced people to the sport of table tennis at various “stations” with the help of several active players. Tables, bats and balls in all sizes and shapes invited people to give it a try. For example, at a mini or midi table with mini bats one could try to get a ball the size of a tennis ball onto the playing surface. The TT bats, whose handles measured 0.5 m in length, required a lot of skill.
Anyone who wanted to work on their technique could do so with the help of a TT robot, which fed the balls with adjustable speed, spin and placement precisely to the spot.
