That exemplary youth development work is carried out at the TT department of TuS Pfarrkirchen was proven at the recently held district championships. The mere fact that a total of six promising youngsters – Marlene Tahedl, Sebastian Angloher, Simon Wasmeier, Mario Pfannenstein, Maxi Espertshuber and Jonas Lindinger – earned the right to compete at the “Lower Bavarian” championship speaks for itself.
Here, however, a harsh wind blows, as only Marlene Tahedl, Maxi Espertshuber and Mario Pfannenstein got past the first round. Nevertheless, the youth management was satisfied. Karin Stemplinger, Beate Brandl and Rainer Bloch looked after the young athletes. Despite reduced training due to school reasons, Marlene Tahedl reached third place in the girls’ doubles in the older category (youth up to 18 years) with her partner Hamann (SV Gündlkofen).
In the Under-13 B category (up to 13 years), Maxi Espertshuber and Mario Pfannenstein fought their way through to the quarter-finals. Then the two “stablemates” met each other through bad luck of the draw, so that only Pfannenstein reached the last four. Here Mario Pfannenstein was beaten by the eventual runner-up Denk from Kreuzberg, but it was enough for third place in the district elite.
He was all the more successful together with Lukas Janker (Phoenix Straubing) in the doubles of his age group, where the two sporting friends won the district championship uncontested. Particularly pleasing is the qualification for the Bavarian championship for Mario Pfannenstein, since no Pfarrkirchen youth player has earned the right to compete at the state championship for a long time.
